Earth always has been, and always will be, a microbe-dominated world.

— Moises Velasquez-Manoff

Hey, I'm Sanne. What started as a deep-dive into how I could improve my health, turned into a passion for the microbial world. Every day, new research is coming out that pushes our notion of just how much bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other forms of microbial life shape our world. And yet, this awareness has still to sink in — most of us don't consider how our actions affect our microbial communities on a daily basis.

A term first coined by Craig Venter, "Planet Microbe" encapsulates what we're only starting to understand throughout the last decade. Better, faster, and ever-cheaper technology is opening our eyes to the fact that microbes do not revolve around us; we revolve around microbes.

Planet Microbe is a careful curation of sources across the web that — in whatever shape or form — zoom in on the mind-boggling world of microbes.
